Make this slow cooker chicken tater tot casserole with gooey cheese and bacon bits on busy days when you just want to dump it and forget it until it's done!
This is one of the recipes my kids always ask for! It’s so easy to make that I make it on those super busy nights. This crockpot or slow cooker dinner is a dump-and-forget, which makes it a double winner!
Slow Cooker Chicken Tater Tot Casserole
You can serve the casserole in a fancy dish or give the kids a paper plate and send them to the table.
Slow Cooker Chicken Tater Tot Casserole
Ingredients:
1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts
32 oz bag of tater tots
1 small bag of bacon bits
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
¾ cup milk
Salt and Pepper
Instructions:
- Spray your crock pot with nonstick spray.
- Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and add to your crock pot.
- Layer ⅓ of the cheese and bacon.
- Top the mixture with half a bag of tater tots.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining chicken, bacon, and tater tots. Pour the milk on top.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Cover and cook on low for 4 hours.
Doesn't that look yummy? You can add extra bacon bites and shredded cheese to the top of the casserole once it is done to pretty it up.
Sometimes I saute green onions to add to the mix. I also use Tony Chachere's Cajun Seasoning to add a little spice. Personalize the recipe to your family's tastes.
