When is the weather the best, the lines shorter, the events the most exciting?  Plan your trip months or even a year in advance and consider crowd levels and discount packages.

    Disney World 2025 Best Dates

The best dates to go to Disney World will depend on several factors. Try prioritizing the lowest visitor numbers. I've taken several things into consideration when choosing the best days each month. See if these dates fit your tentative vacation times to go to Disney World in 2025:

    Disney World 2025 Dates

    January: 12-14, 20-31

    February: 3-12, 24-28

    March: 1-7

    April: 7-14

    May: 1-11, 13-23

    June: 1-13, 17-30

    July: 5-31

    August: 1-31

    September: 3-30

    October: 1-10

    November: 1-7, 12-27

    December: 1-15

Disney World Worst Dates For Crowds

The worst dates to go to Disney World include holiday weekends, the peak of spring break, Thanksgiving week, and Christmas week. Historically, New Year's Eve is one of the busiest days of the entire year at Walt Disney World. Guests are usually prepared for crowds on the major holidays and spring break but are often caught off guard by the three-day weekends, which include:

    Martin Luther King Jr. Day

    • 3rd Monday in January

    President's Day

    • 3rd Monday In February

    Memorial Day

    • Last Monday in May

    Labor Day

    • First Monday in September

    Indigenous People's Day/Columbus Day

    • 2nd Monday in October

    Veteran's Day

    • November 11th each year

These weekends can be especially crowded and are often overlooked when planning a Disney World trip.

    1. Budget Days To Visit Disney World

Walt Disney World uses a tier system for their 1-day ticket pricing. Disney World theme park tickets range from $109-$189 for a one-park-per-day ticket. A 1-day ticket will increase depending on the park and time of year. Magic Kingdom is consistently the most expensive park. And the most expensive time of year typically aligns with holidays like Christmas or Thanksgiving.

The lowest price for a 1-day Disney World ticket is for dates found in August and September. Animal Kingdom will consistently be the park with the lowest price. Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios often cost the most. EPCOT falls somewhere in the middle.

If you are looking for the best time to visit Disney World, analyze how much a Disney World vacation costs and what time of year is the cheapest.

    2. Best Months of the Year

When planning your dream Disney World vacation, timing is key! If you're looking to avoid the hustle and bustle of peak season, September is a fantastic choice. As one of the quieter months at the parks, you'll enjoy shorter lines and a more relaxed atmosphere. Plus, September often brings fantastic discounts on Disney World hotels, making your trip even more magical!

While September falls within hurricane season, the chances of encountering a major storm are relatively low early in the season. And even if there's a bit of rain, it usually passes quickly, leaving plenty of time to enjoy the parks. Don't forget, both Disney World and Universal Studios Orlando have incredible Halloween events starting as early as August, adding an extra layer of fun to your September visit. You can also experience the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival and the beloved Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. It's a truly spooktacular time to be at Disney!

Another hidden gem for crowd-conscious travelers is August. As part of the summer season, the parks offer extended hours, allowing you to pack in even more fun. While the weather can be warm, the lower crowds more than make up for it. So if you don't mind a bit of heat and the occasional afternoon shower, August can be a fantastic time to experience all the magic Disney has to offer.

    3. Disney World Crowd Numbers

While holidays and three-day weekends offer a tempting break from the daily grind, they might not be the ideal time to experience the magic of Disney World if you're looking to avoid the hustle and bustle. Popular three-day weekends like President's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Labor Day, and Indigenous Peoples'/Columbus Day can attract larger crowds than you might expect. And of course, major holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, along with Spring Break weeks in March and April, are peak times for families to visit the parks. If you want to experience the joy of Disney with a bit more breathing room, it's best to steer clear of these periods.

But don't worry, there are still plenty of opportunities to enjoy Disney World without the massive crowds! For a spring visit, try planning your trip for the first week of March or the last week of April. You'll still get to enjoy the pleasant weather and blooming flowers while avoiding the peak Spring Break crowds. And if you're dreaming of a holiday visit, consider going before Thanksgiving week or after New Year's Day. You can still soak up the festive atmosphere and enjoy the holiday decorations without the overwhelming crowds.

Remember, the best time to visit Disney World is all about finding the perfect balance between your priorities and the crowd levels. With a little planning and flexibility, you can create an unforgettable Disney experience filled with magic and wonder, even during popular times of the year!

    4. Hurricane Season In Florida

One major factor that weighs heavily on guests' minds when planning their Disney World trip is the unpredictable Florida weather. Let's be honest, no one wants their magical vacation ruined by a hurricane! While the official hurricane season stretches from June to November, it's important to remember that doesn't mean there's a hurricane lurking around every corner. August and September tend to be the peak months for actual storms, but even then, it's more likely you'll experience some passing rain showers than a full-blown hurricane.

Honestly, I think people get a bit too caught up in the term "hurricane season." It's not like the entire state is under constant threat for six months straight. If you're visiting between June and October, expect some afternoon showers, but these usually pass quickly, leaving you plenty of time to enjoy the parks. If the thought of even a bit of rain puts a damper on your trip, then maybe consider visiting during the "sweet spot" months of March through May. April, in particular, is a dream with mild temperatures and minimal rain.

October and November can also be lovely, with comfortable temperatures and fewer crowds. However, October still falls within hurricane season, so there's a slight risk of tropical storms. If you're looking for a true escape from the heat, December through February offers cooler temperatures, but be prepared for some chilly evenings.

In my opinion, November is the ultimate winner when it comes to the best time to visit Disney World, weather-wise. The temperatures are still warm enough to enjoy the pools and outdoor activities, but the intense heat and humidity have subsided. Plus, you get to experience the magic of the holiday season without the massive crowds that descend on the parks in December.

Ultimately, the best time to visit Disney World depends on your priorities. If avoiding the crowds is your top concern, then November is the clear winner. But if you're all about perfect weather and don't mind a few afternoon showers, then April might be the way to go. It's all about finding the right balance for you!

    5. Holidays and Disney World

Okay, so if you're into Halloween and don't mind a bit of a gamble with the weather, September is THE time to hit up Disney World. It's kinda spooky season already, and the crowds are usually way smaller. Plus, Disney throws out some sweet hotel deals to get people to visit during this time. Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is the big thing happening then, and it's a blast! You get to dress up, trick-or-treat, and the whole park is decked out for Halloween. But, if you're not a fan of potential rain or storms, maybe October is a safer bet.

Now, if Christmas is more your jam, the first two weeks of December are golden. The holiday vibes are in full swing, but it's not insanely packed yet. Just remember, the EPCOT International Festival of Holidays usually kicks off after Thanksgiving, so if that's a must-do for you, you might want to wait until later in December.

But honestly, if you're all about avoiding the crowds, November is your best friend. It's before the Thanksgiving rush, and you still get to enjoy some of the Christmas decorations and events. Once Thanksgiving hits, things start getting busier, and it peaks around mid-December and stays crazy until New Year's. Some people even wait until after New Year's to visit and catch the tail end of the Christmas festivities.

At the end of the day, the best time to go to Disney World is all about what matters most to you. Do you want smaller crowds, good deals, nice weather, or specific events? Figure out your priorities, and you'll find the perfect time to make some magical memories!
