First dates are iffy. You could potentially be going out with someone you'll fall in love with or trying to get out of a date that's like A Nightmare On Elm Street. Either way, the one thing we're never sure about is the drink menu. It's easy to go back and forth on the drink choices when unsure what to order. But we've got you covered! Here are drinks that members of an online forum claim are "too strong" to order on a first date.
1. Long Island Iced Tea

"The mild, Long Island iced tea you make at home is nothing close to what you will get at a restaurant. You will have at least five shots at once, leaving you wondering where you are and your date trying to work out what's going on," said a commenter.
2. Martinis

While a martini feels like a perfectly normal drink, it has two things wrong: one is never enough, and it's the perfect way to end up in the restroom multiple times during your date. The last thing you want is to get drunk, as you're asking for more drinks, and run to the bathroom every minute, leaving your date with a wanting impression.
3. Champagne

You might want to look classy for your date, but champagne is slightly too strong. Plus, what are you celebrating exactly? There is always a specific connotation with champagne, and you wouldn't want to deal with the questions that come after.
4. Scotch on the Rocks

"This is a drink to leave for your fourth or fifth date. It showcases a strong personality. There's nothing wrong with confidence, but you don't want to come across as overbearing at first glance," shared a second user.
